The plan offers hospitalisation coverage for COVID-19 (up to ₹5,00,000).
Home Care Treatment Expenses
It also offers coverage for availing treatment at home for COVID-19.
Pre and Post-Hospitalisation Expenses
Corona Kavach policy provides pre and post-hospitalisation coverage (up to the sum insured) for 15 and 30 days respectively.
AYUSH Treatments
The plan offers coverage against inpatient care treatment for COVID-19 under Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.
Coverage for Pre-existing Diseases

What is Not Covered Under the Corona Kavach Policy?

Diagnostic Expenses Only
Hospitalisation solely for diagnostics and evaluation purposes is not covered, as it is not considered part of active treatment.
Rehabilitation and Cure
Expenses for bed rest, custodial care at home, or nursing facilities are not covered.
Dietary Supplements and Unprescribed Medicine
Expenses for medicines without a valid prescription are not covered.
Unproven Treatments
The plan does not cover unproven treatments, services, or supplies that lack significant medical documentation to support their effectiveness.
Daycare Treatments
Medical expenses for OPD treatments or daycare procedures are not covered.
Vaccination and Preventive Treatments
Expenses for inoculations, vaccinations, or other preventive treatments are not covered.
Unauthorized Testing
Testing conducted at diagnostic centres not authorized by the Government will not be covered by this policy.

Buying the Corona Kavach Policy is very simple. Just follow the below-mentioned steps:
- Visit the official website of the respective insurer.
- Under Health Insurance plans, search for ‘Corona Kavach Policy’.
- Explore the plan and provide the required information such as your name, DOB, age, contact number.
- Choose the sum insured and policy tenure as per your convenience.
- Complete the payment using available options.
- Once the payment is done, the company will share the policy documents on your registered email ID. A hard copy will be sent to your registered address.
How to Claim for the Corona Kavach Policy?
The claim process of the Corona Kavach Policy is similar to a regular health insurance plan. Claims can be made for cashless or reimbursement. The steps for filing a claim are mentioned below.
- Inform the insurance company as soon as possible for both planned and emergency hospitalisation.
- For cashless claims, a pre-authorization form must be submitted to seek cashless permission. For reimbursement claims, the insured must pay for treatment at a non-network hospital and then submit necessary documents for reimbursement.
- After approval, the insurance company will settle the amount directly with the hospital or reimburse the admissible amount to the insured.
